What is ARSI’s rescue program?
Animal Rescue Squad International focuses on helping dogs locally (mainly Davis, CA). Our central office is located in Davis, CA, where our founders, Dr. Nikki Yang and Kenneth also reside. Dr. Nikki Yang is a veterinarian from Taiwan who is currently an epidemiologist in the US. We also have veterinarians and specialist from UC Davis supporting our team. with the help of volunteers, and foster families, we ensure the adoption process proceeds as smoothly as possible. When applications are submitted, your personal information will remain confidential and will not be shared with other organizations.
What is ARSI’s adoption fee?
Adult/Senior (3 yrs + ): $500 - $590
Puppy/Young (6 mo – 2yr11 mo): $600 - $690
Purebred puppy: $800 - $1,000

Rabies: $50-$100

The adoption fee certainly does not come close to covering all the expenses which is why we are heavily depending on the donations. The adopters will only need to pay a flat adoption fee.
What is the adoption process and How long will it take to adopt a dog from ARSI?
First Phase (5-7 days):
1. Application review. We will ONLY contact qualified candidates for the next steps.
2. Schedule for a video conferencing to assess the home environment. In person home assessment may be required after the first home assessment through video conferencing.
3. Schedule for interview via Google Meet or Zoom
Second Phase (5-7 days):
If you are selected to adopt our dog, we will
4. Notify your listed contacts for the future follow-ups if we are not able to reach you after multiple attempts.
5. Provide the adoption contract for your review.
6. Request a copy of your driver’s license or identity card. This is to ensure that we are able to locate you after an address change.
7. Collect the adoption fee. Adoption fee will be collected in FULL prior to picking up the dog at Davis, CA. If you are not comfortable with sending us the adoption fee electronically, we are able to schedule an in-person meeting in Davis, CA.
Final Phase (1-2 days):
8. Sign the adoption contract electronically before you pick up the dog at Davis, CA.
9. Schedule a pick-up date/time
What are dogs’ temperaments?
We provide as many videos as possible to show how the dogs interact with people, dogs, cats, and kids, as well as food aggression assessment and leash training. We also provide videos upon special request, for example, interacting with chickens, if you have more uncommon circumstances at home. All the adoptable dogs undergo a general temperament test and will specify the temperament of each dog on their profile page.
How can I meet the dog in person?
We will invite qualified applicants to meet the dog after interviews take place.
What will ARSI provide after THE ADOPTION?
All the legal documents (Health certificate and Rabies vaccination certificate approved by USDA) and medical records to prove the dog is clear for all the diseases, and chip numbers. We also provide free consultation from experienced internal medicine specialists, surgeons, and trainers upon request. We will also provide a support group if you have questions about any aspect of the adopted dog, no matter if you are a first-time or experienced dog owner.
